Universitat de Barcelona
We are a newly established experimental group working on cold atoms and optical tweezers at the Universitat de Barcelona.
Quantum simulation with ultracold atoms
Ultracold atoms are a versatile platform to study quantum many-body physics. Their combination with optical lattices enables the realization condensed-matter models of low-dimensional systems and Hubbard models.
Cooperative quantum optics in atomic arrays
Atoms loaded in optical lattices can be used as a subwavelength array of emitters to study cooperative quantum optics phenomena in free space.
Single-atom detection
To prepare and characterize the properties of such atomic systems, it is desirable to detect the atoms with site-resolved resolution. This tool has enabled the development of quantum-gas microscopes as well as atomic arrays based on optical tweezers.
